Samira Kafala is a British photographer whose work explores the poetic in the everyday. These images are part of an ongoing project started in 2010 exploring themes of mortality, permanence, ageing, growth and decay.
Samira Kafala was born in 1969 to a British mother and Libyan father. She lived in Libya until 1978 when she moved to Britain with her family. In 1997 she graduated from Chelsea School of Art, London. She has lived in Amsterdam since 2004 with her husband and 2 children.
