Speaking of portraits, the most important to me is to find the right place for the right model. This choice often comes by exchanging with the model before the shooting session. This moment is really crucial, first to get to know the person I’m dealing with and secondly to reflect how this person sees itself, and how it can fits with my vision of them. In the end, a shot that will work has a perfect balance of good idea, good composition and good vibe!
The serie I am presenting you is mostly musicians I worked with over the years.
In Ballen’s workshop, I went back to basic. Trying to focus more on the form/counter-form, and to analyse the road your eyes is doing on each frame. In the future, I will put my efforts not to forget these bases that are so important. Thanks for your valuable time.
