Humankind is following a routine of creating light in the darkness. It is in human nature to adapt to every challenge on its path. The times change, but the light and the dark remain the same, only in another shape.
This body of work represents Joukje’s imagination of the interaction of darkness and light with human beings. With her work, she wanted to expand that even in the thickest darkness, lightness is always there.
