Jan Guth (b. 1989) is a photographer specialising in documentary photography and (slow) photojournalism through visual storytelling. An alumnus of the VII Academy Masterclass 2022/2023 in Arles and the Visual Storytelling Intensive programme at the International Center of Photography in New York, Guth is also a pro member of The Raw Society. His work focuses on environmental, political, and social issues spanning both continental and insular Europe, with a particular emphasis on Luxembourg, France and the Republic of Ireland.
A significant milestone in his career was the publication of his first international work in the 1 in 6 by 2030 project. Guth aims to inspire societal change by creating impactful visual stories. Based in the heart of Europe, he benefits from the ability to travel quickly and easily across the continent. Fluent in Luxembourgish, English, German, and French, he is also learning Irish Gaelic. His linguistic skills enhance his ability to communicate and connect with diverse cultures and communities, further enriching his visual narratives.
