The days in Berlin. Four days with Todd Hido, Véronique from Eyes in Progress and all the participants. An intense and important time.

Such a great inspiration working with the other photographers, seeing the talent in their work and listening to their personal stories. It touched me.

Not to mention the benefits of gaining insight into Todd’s world, seeing his process and listening to his reviews. All of this has given me the inspiration to continue with my own photography, instead of selling my cameras on eBay and giving up shooting.

You could say that I grew up with Alfred Hitchcock, Fritz Lang, Orson Welles, David Lynch’s Blue Velvet – and with myself. My room was in the dark cellar of my family’s house. Throw in some Kim Ki­Duk and Kim Jee­Woon, and you’ll get a hint of how I saw the world, and how my visual language was shaped over time.

In my early twenties I thought that my photography was all about creating self­potraits by photographing other people. Every now and then, it hits me that I use my camera to make myself feel something. To dig and see what I’ve been hiding from. To let go.

I’m Daniel and I’m a photographer. I live in Stockholm, Sweden. And it’s currently snowing outside my window.
