For my project during this workshop I decided to document different moments of Placa de Virreina’s nightlife. The Placa is in the heart of Barrio de Gracia and it’s an attraction at any time of night…until very late! A continuous stream of people is filling the Placa in its warm and “orangy” light: people are working, strolling around, chatting, drinking, singing…coming towards me to ask what the big camera is about! I love this kind of variety where each person has a story to tell, especially here in Barcelona where the warmth of the people is almost physically embracing you.
I am Valeria and I am Italian. Photography is my great passion, and -someone says I am lucky- still not my job! I mostly photograph while travelling, I love street photography, people and portraits. I strongly wanted to attend this workshop to meet Miss Atwood and to learn from her. This was surely an amazing experience and I learned a lot.
