Visual poetry

by Samira Kafala (The Netherlands)

I use my camera to hunt for the delicate traces and faint evidence of that mysterious place beyond our everyday perception. I am on a quest, I am asking the world to reveal itself, and to allow my camera to portray it.

Portfolio from the Visual poetry workshop with Rinko Kawauchi, July 2014.

Personal meeting with ANN-CHRISTIN BERTRAND,
Curator at C/O Berlin and head of C/O Berlin Talents program

"My portfolio review with Ann-Christin Bertrand was extremely constructive. We met at CO Berlin as I was interested to see the newly re-opened gallery. I was not disappointed, this is a must see space for anyone interested in photography. We went up to the library for some quite and as soon as I laid out my images Ann-Christin responded with some brilliantly astute suggestions regarding how to progress the work. She was very clear and to the point and could see immediately which direction the work could go in. We agreed that, having fresh eyes on a project is invaluable. I'm hugely grateful for having the opportunity to put my work in front of her expert eye & have taken her advice very much on board. Thank you Ann-Christin and thank you Eyes in Progress."
