Life behind the circus

by Roni Kanelbaum (Israel)

I was born and raised in Israel, but traveled the world from a very early age. Photographing was a passion of mine from ever since my teenage years and started taking it more seriously in the past 4 years. My interest lies with people and human nature. Today my work focuses on the place of woman in todays society

Visiting the gypsies circus you get the feeling of an isolated and closed community right in the heart of Paris. The art of performing at the circus is a family trade that has been passing down for three generations. Glimpsing on life behind the scene you see the hardship behind the life of a performer.
