Aurore & Filofoli

by Rita Vollenweider (Switzerland)

Aurore is one of the few female sail boat owners in the harbour of Marseille.

Once a year, Aurore and her sailing club colleagues take out their boats to clean them from shells and aquatic organisms. Her beauty is called “Filofoli” – inspired by the words “fou” (crazy) and “folie” (madness)- was built in 1907. Since then the boat has been in the same sailing club. Those members are very social and helpful. Support is given whenever needed and knowledge is passed on to the younger generations – a wonderful family-like bubble in the harbour of Marseille.
