After a life of many travels with my parents I developed a openminded view at the world and my fellow earthlings. I’m attracted to culture and traditions and the feeling of belonging to something or somewhere that comes along with it always touches me. Identity and expression are thing I find very interesting too.
Photography hasn’t always been my profession. I’ve been working as a physical therapist, a masseuse, a book-vendor and a waitress. At that time I thought everyone wanted to be photographer and that is was absolutely impossible to make a living out of it. One day it hit me and I realised that maybe a lot of people wanted it but very few actually did is. From that moment on I started to put all my effort in starting up my own business and I was getting more and more bookings for weddings as I went along.
I live in Rotterdam with my husband and son. I work at home together with my husband who is an illustrator and who inspires me daily. The part of my business that will always be changing and progressing is my connection to others and trying to find out what my client needs without forgetting what I need. My clients are off course happy, exited, overwhelmed, but they are also tense or irritated, maybe sad. It’s a day full of emotions. In all this I try to find a way to enjoy the wedding from moment to moment, get energised, play with my camera and lenses and ideas and create something unique for each couple.
