I am presenting two different works:
A serie of multiple portraits from the workshop , shot in Paris, in a very limited time frame, two hours. I had the idea to reproduce a format of mosaique details based on an instagram page: “mosagrams”. I include in this work, my original format, which i tested with a group of teenagers while teaching photography. It’s a good example of how having the intention of a format can stimulate creativity. I think the result is dynamic and would work for highlighting and discussing identity.
The beginning of a project on La Habana , Cuba, where I went in 2015 to document stories for the press. Part of my work was published as a web documentary on France 24 and in We demain magazine.
Coming back to this work with a distance, inspired by Zachmann’s long term relationship with his projects, I found out pictures i had never considered before, in that they probably belong to a more personal register. I would like to pursue this intention on my next project there.
For future projects, I want to anticipate more on the artistic intention of a serie. Beyond simple illustration, I am hoping this approach can strengthen my journalistic work and make me grow as a photographer.
