As my work has evolved, human interest stories have very much taken centre stage.
Liberty denied : This is a photo report which has been realized in Madagascar in difference jails. As the official and local administrations did not allow photo reportage within the walls on the penitentiary, this one has been clandestine in nature. This is the collaboration of certain jailers who have help me to reach this target . In Madagascan jails, main of them which were built during the french colonization period and not updated since gaining independence in 1960, I met men who had been incarcerated for many years without judgment , but also terminally ill women and even children jailed for stealing zebu or even fruit.
Wizards of aluminum : Spending the vast majority of 2013 in Egypt due to the last political events, I have been interested to meet some coptic community . This is with this target that I have spend time on garbages workers area. The Coptic community, based on the periphery of Cairo, dedicate their life to collecting the Cairo’s rubbish, sorting and selecting the entire spectrum of the capital’s detriutus for recycling. One of this recycling is based on soda bottles and spray which are recycled in pallet of metal and resold to aluminium company . This work is really hard cause of terrible conditions and risks due to gaz remained in spray. These people do not receive recognition or support from the egyptian government or the Egyptian citizens. We could think about what would be the sanitary conditions in Cairo without the work of these people .They are suffering about bad reputation since years. My stay with them make me discover the dignity of this community and give me the chance to meet The MAGICIANS of aluminium who make useful with useless.
