Gunnar Menzel is a commercial freelance photographer based in Munich. His primary focus is on people photography specializing in portraitures and editorials.
The portfolio provided was created during a session in Berlin held by Richard Dumas. It is a series of photographs driven by a film noir type of storytelling merging strong graphical elements and enigmatic portraits. This series pushed me out of my comfort zone as it was very different to my commercial assignments.
My series gives the viewer a storyboard without guiding him too precisely. The tone, sense and atmosphere of the sequence leaves room for the viewer’s personal story.
