But being with them doesn’t have the aim to document the show itself. What I was looking for was to capture moments which demonstrate the essence of femininity of this group of girls that sometimes acts like little ones but also are in the process of becoming women: the very delicate transition, the adolescence.
I tried to be with them in lots of their preparatory trials and not to miss all the dances, the celebrations, the scolding, the make-up, the songs….
This work is unfinished. At the moment, while I am here in Paris, they are starting the festival which will continue until the middle of December. As soon as I return I prepare to be with them again.
I start taking pictures whit me father a long time ago. At that moment I used to work on analog and also do a lot of laboratory work. Then I went to university, study law, get married, I had 3 girls and when they grew up a little I had the chance to come back to my great passion which is photography. Now I live in Caracas, Venezuela. I contribute with a local news web page called Prodavinci, and I am very interested in telling the stories of people from Venezuela using my documentary photography.
