I definitely consider myself a « concerned » photographer well aware of the challenges of our world. But I enjoy emphasizing the positive through vibrant photos. During this workshop with the extraodinary photojournalist Ed Kashi, I decided on documenting the appropriation of a stretch of the Seine riverbank by people living in or visiting Paris. Two busy lanes of car traffic used to run along the south bank between the Musée d’Orsay and Pont d’Alma. After months of work, this area was finally open to the public at the end of this month. There, people can now wander around, relax and play. A dream come true.
I currently work as an editorial photographer and photojournalist. Photography has been one of my passions for many years but it only became a full time occupation in recent times. Through my work, I try and bring out the positive side of things. Our societies are certainly facing serious challenges. I tend to be more interested in putting forward the solutions often found to get around the problem encountered.
