Maybe the most important thing I learned was something most photographers might know and that easily gets lost in common work: photography is an opinion. So every independent portrait ist always a mix between the models approach and my perception as a photographer. During the workshop I had chances to become more sensitive for my own feelings while getting contact to my motives. These feelings are the most important base for a meaningful portrait to me. Unfortunately there was to less time for most of the shootings to get really into this process of a connection with the motives. On the other hand it´s a challenge to get as deep as possible in a short period of time.
As the result there was a spectrum of photos. What’s interesting about the final editing is the analogy in pictures from different shootings. It seems like a puzzle that completes step by step during the workshop. Et voilà, there’s a big picture as a body of photographic work.
