The Geometry of Night, implies a dialogue between order and surrender, structure and feeling – the same tension visible in this photographic series. A celebration of structure, colour, and the pursuit of light.
I examine the shifting relationships between our natural and manufactured worlds through photography and environmental soundscapes. Based in Canada, my practice centers on the desert landscapes of the southwestern United States. I am drawn to the vast emptiness of these regions, their environmental harshness, and the accelerated processes of decay that unfold within them.
My work documents entropy—an effort to find visual and auditory order within structural disorder. Driven by a fascination with fading light and changing atmospheric conditions, I return to the same familiar desert locations over extended periods. By experimenting with sound recording, light, colour, and long exposures, I capture the quiet, continuous transformations of the American Southwest.
