My name is Andreea, I’m from Bucharest, Romania and I’m a very keen amateur photographer. I have an engineering degree and I’ve been working for a decade in a bank, as a clearing officer.
I started photography 20 years ago as a way of documenting our lives and travels. If I look back at all my photographs I think that I am more drawn towards environmental portraits and street photography.
I came to this workshop because taking portraits in a classical way is something I’ve been struggling with and I wanted to improve my skills. I like trying new things and experimenting.
The workshop proved to be very creatively challenging and it took me out of my comfort zone. It forced me to think differently about light and mood. I enjoyed it very much working with models.
Working with Todd Hido was a very valuable and inspiring learning experience.
Being inspired by Mr. Todd Hido, the theme I chose for my sequence is called Echos of Light and I’ve combined portraits with landscape in order for my pictures to better fit within the theme.
Echoes of Light – a sequence of portraits where illumination becomes both subject and storyteller.
