Por la crisis. A common refrain in the streets of Barcelona. Spain’s economic crisis continues and underneath the skin of this major cosmopolitan centre lies the harsh reality of those wandering in the shadows, fighting to survive as the economy falls. During the workshop, I walked the streets searching signs of economic and social degradation and the evidences of hope that spark from within.
Consecrated to love & Por la crisis
by André Paxiuta (Portugal)
I’m a freelance photographer based in Lisbon, Portugal. I was drawn to photography for its power to motivate awareness and produce change in the way we see the world.
Consecrated to love. The term “Consecrated life” refers to those who hand their lives to God with a special consecration. This body of work documents the daily life of the consecrated members of a religious community, revealing an intimate perspective on the consecrated life in its radical commitment for love of Christ, the Church and the service of the people. The pictures were taken in Brazil, Portugal and Belgium.
