Portfolio/Portfolio Review

A portfolio review is a session during which a mentor reviews a photographer’s images selection.

This selection can consist of a single series, a reportage or a mix of works.

When submitting his application, the photographer is invited to write a description text about himself and the portfolio. This helps the mentor to understand in advance what are the photographer’s expectations for the review.

Please note that if you would like to have an advice on which expert would be the right fit for you or which service you need, do not hesitate to ask us about it at: contact@eyesinprogress.com.

Once the application is submitted throughout the Eyes in Progress’s website, it is sent to the mentor so he can tell if he’s available and willing to do it.

  • If the mentor is available, Eyes in Progress sends the photographer a choice of agenda availabilities to do the review. Once the photographer has agreed on a date and time, Eyes in Progress puts the mentor and the photographer in touch by email.
  • If the Mentor is not available, Eyes in Progress contacts the photographer and suggests other mentors. It is then up to the photographer to choose another mentor or to cancel the process.

For information about deadlines and payment, please carefully check the General Conditions tab on the right column of the mentor’s page.

Editing/Sequence

An editing/sequence session is a session during which a mentor works together with the photographer on the editing and the sequence of an images selection.

When submitting the images, the photographer is invited to write a description text about himself, the images selection and what he is willing to achieve with the editing work (book mockup, exhibition selection, general portfolio, reportage, etc.).

This helps the mentor to understand in advance what are the photographer’s expectations for the review.

Please note that if you would like to have an advice on which expert would be the right fit for you or which service you need, do not hesitate to ask us about it at: contact@eyesinprogress.com.

Guidance

A guidance session is a session during which a mentor works together with the photographer to step back on where he is at right now in his photography’s career, what choices are available to him and what decisions he should be making about his practice and evolution. This session can be assimilated to a coaching session.

When submitting an application for a guidance session, the images selection sent by the photographer only is important if the photographer’s website is not up to date nor existing. If they do exist, the images selection is not that crucial because the mentor will also use the website as a tool to evaluate and give advices.

The photographer is invited to write a description text about himself and what he is expecting from the guidance session. This helps the mentor to understand in advance what are the photographer’s expectations for the review.
