Aka ioru (Red light)

by Paola Ruvioli (Italy)

I graduated in Political Sciences at the University of Cagliari; my love for photography started when I was a child, when I received my first Polaroid on my seventh birthday.

AKA IORU (red light)

Is a serie of photographs taken in Paris, Cagliari, NY, Tokyo. I’m fascinated by night life. I love the loneliness, the waiting, the unexpected that night brings everywhere and I love that emotion and feelings are free to be expressed at night. AKA IORU is the Japanese name for RED LIGHT. It also represents the universal transition between day and night. It is a project without geographic boundaries.

Portfolio from the The sensitive eye workshop with Claudine Doury, February 2015.
