Ambiguous City

by Serge Maes (Belgium)

I’m extremely passionate about photography and street photography in particular. I try to make sense of the world around me by making visually and emotionally complex photographs. Color, light and mood play an equally important role as the people or situations depicted. The idea is not so much to tell a particular story but to show the viewer how I perceive the world through my camera. My most recent project entitled “Ambiguous City” takes the viewer on a journey through Antwerp, the city I live in.

Portfolio from the Documentaire workshop with Patrick Zachmann, June 2012.
